Safety Hints For Your Sphynx Cat

Remember that the Sphynx cats and Sphynx kittens are indoor cats only. Their skin is very sensitive because of the lack of hair and they can sunburn easily. However they do like to sit in a sunny window and this is ok. They really enjoy the warmth of the sunshine.

Always keep the bathroom toilet lids down. A kitten can fall in and not be able to get out.

Cats and kittens like to get into open washers, dryers, or dishwashers. Try to keep the washer and dryer doors closed. Always check them before turning them on.

Cats are curious and sometimes they will open cabinets. You can use a child-proof lock on the cabinet if necessary; especially the ones you keep household cleaners or poisons in.

Never use any type of flea, tick dip, or topical medications that are not meant for cats or kittens. These products are deadly. Always get the advise of your veterinarian first.

Do not feed any food that contains onions; cats or dogs can become very sick. It is best to feed your pet a good premium food that is made for them.

Never give your cat or dog human medications. Many medicines are toxic to them and can kill them.

Never allow your cat or dog (any animal) to play with things such as: thread, twist ties, Christmas tinsel, kite string, or Easter grass. These items can cause very serious harm to all animals.

Never place pesticides where cats (animals) can reach them.

Most houseplants are poisonous to cats and dogs (animals). Please check out our Toxic Plant Link.  Toxic Plants
